Samuli Peltonen, cello, (b. 1981) is a young virtuoso Finnish cellist, a student of professor Arto Noras at the Sibelius-Academy. He's also participated in masterclasses with Fred Sherry, Torleif Thedeen, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Martti Rousi, Marko Ylönen and Franz Helmersson.

He has appeared with several of the Finnish orchestras (Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Turku philharmonic Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Seinäjoki City Orchestra, Sigyn-sinfonietta, Vaasa City Orchestra) and in solo and chamber music recitals in Finland, China, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Sweden, Iceland and in Germany.
Samuli Peltonen won 4th price in international Paulo Cello Competition in 2007 and in early 2006 he was awarded the first prize in the national Turku Cello Competition, having previously won the second prize in the Jyväskylä Baltic-Nordic duo competition 2004 with pianist Anna-Mari Murdvee. He joined in the regular ranks of Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in 2006. In December 2008 Samuli Peltonen won the 1st International Krzysztof Penderecki Cello Competition and was also awarded a special prize for best performance of Penderecki's cello concerto.
He has made radio recordings for Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE. Recording of Cheremissian Fantasy for cello and orchestra with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Ondine) was released in 2010.
